Very few managers throw themselves onto their swords now, they wait for the payoff. Roeder made a career out of getting sacked and getting paid off.

I'd like to think our manager isn't as gutless as some of our 'fans' as to give up after a few bad results.

Change keepers? Replace Adrian with Randolph?
I'm sorry but that is ridiculous. Adrian was the only one to come out with any credibility yesterday and you want to replace him?

Fair enough, Russ. Just think the OP is daft - there is no evidence Bilic plans to walk.
The funny thing, given how few managers resign "on principle" cos they know the situation is fucked and they can't see a solution?
The last notable one was... Steve Bruce.

It's never going to change if it continually picks the same players that are failing us.
They are totally engulfed with fear, you can see it in their body language, as an example see the back page of the Metro today.
He needs to drop at least 5-6 players and at least try something different.
Play Fletcher and Martinez as a duo for example, shake it up.
Obiang, Fernandes as a defensive 2 in midfield.
Byram at LB and Arbeloa at RB
Bring Oxford in at centre half alongside Ogbonna
Finally change the keepers, Randolph in for Adrian
Randolph Arbeloa Oxford Ogbonna Byram Obiang Fernandes Payet Feghouli Fletcher Martinez
Radical yes but FFS what else do we do ?
If he persists with the current bunch nothing will change
If we fail miserably again sack the manager

I think the assumption is that Bilic is a very dignified and honest man. He doesn't strike me as a person that would just sit and take us down if he knows he has no answers or solutions to our poor current form and results.
Not suggesting anything either way but I do agree with the thought process that he would walk before he got pushed. Not saying that will happen.

i don't agree with much the moose says on talksport but he's right we should have two or three top quality players rather than a whole new team of average players

Buying 12 players and spending £43 million none of whom warrant a game. That's one of our problems as we get our usual run of injuries and the pkayers waiting to come in are all shit. Whereas last season when we were playing well the bench was the strongest I've ever seen. Now I look at it and there's not a single player who I thinks going to change it

Re: Bilic could resign

After a nights sleep the depression of what I saw yesterday remains.
For a start we cannot play this possession game or on the front foot. We do not have the legs or work rate in the team. The second could be addressed but even then I then doubt we have the physicality. Aside from chasing shadows we were second best physically.
The player who was anonymous was Kouyate and he has been all season. Bilic has to drop him. He is becoming like Nolan and playing with 10 men.
Noble, Lanzini, Payet all struggled in midfield but were involved. But the options going forward non-existent. They had to turn back or sidewards or were easily pressed and dispossessed.
We struggle with no effective striker.. Zaza is never a lone striker or one who can lead the line. He is physically not up to it. Don't start him. He got little service but what he got he wasted.
Without the outlet the next area you need is over lapping full backs. Nordveit? He looks like a CB trying to play there. Offers nothing going forward although was just ok defending. The first goal was Antonio not tracking back and leaving them 2 on one as their full backs got forward.
We cannot retain possession or move the ball fast enough when we have it. Hence the tactics Bilic is trying with us getting forward leaves us exposed all the time. Once their first goal went in, we had no answers. We do not have the discipline, movement, strikers up top or midfielders to play teh way Bilic wants. We are stuck in transition between the BFS direct game and trying to play to feet etc... Reid and Ogbonna were ok but Reid cannot distribute the ball and is ssuited to lumping it forward. No good without big Andy.
But I return to midfield. Noble and the invisible Kouyate who offers nothing when not on the ball and even his bursts forward rarely work at the moment. He has to have a rest. Payet, Lanzini and Antonio. None of them are doing enough when we are countered. We continually get caught and none of them looks or is able to get back to help. Southampton missed 4 gilt edged chances. It should have been 6 or 7 nil. We were flattered by 3-0.
Bilic has no answer. He is relying on big Andy or Sakho or Ayew and Cresswell coming back. Even then will he rest Kouyate ? No he is not seeing it. Noble is slow but can pass the ball and was trying even if ineffective.
He has no choice but change things again. Obiang, Oxford, Fernandes. And why did we let Burke go out on loan.
Finally not one of the signings is going to work with the possible exception of Ayew who we have not seen and in patches Ferghouli offers something.
So we have really started the season without Tomkins and injuries to Carroll and Cresswell. Weaker than last season and towards the end of last season Bilic had tried to get us away from the direct style and reliance on Big Andy. It has not worked.
We are in huge trouble. We tried to sit deep and be tight but the players picked or available in the squad could not do that. There was no outlets going forward and the Saints just sat back waiting for us to over commit and picked us off as they moved it at pace and overlapped to rip us apart time after time.
I like Bilic the man but he is taking us down based on the form since March.

Totally predictably some of you are jumping to the usual negative conclusions that he will resign, be sacked and we will be relegated. It has been a bad start to the season, we are low on confidence & none of us expected that. However there is a long way to go & I see no reason why Bilic can't turn things round. The suggestion that he & the players have given up, is way off the mark! At the moment we seem to be punished for every mistake we make. It was an even match yesterday until they scored with their first chance, on the stroke of HT. We then chased the game and made a bad mistake for their second goal. Southampton thoroughly deserved to win in the end as the confidence visibly drained out of us once again. Try to have a little faith & stay behind the team & SB!

I don't think anyone wants him gone, but it's not just our shit start to this season, the rot crept in at the end of last season and has carried over, we've been shocking for a while tbh, too much blame on the new stadium aswell.
